Rex, my friend, if moving to a folding camper, means that you can still go camping, then so be it.
I am a great beleiver in the fact that we all have different types of units for different reasons. Often health plays a major part in our choice.
My late in laws had a static. MIL's health meant that tent camping was out, and my FIL did not want to be bothered with towing every week. A static meant the they could get away most weekends.
We have recently got a folding camper, as Richard find that sleeping on an airbed for more than a couple of nights sets his arthritis off, and being tall, he doesn't find campbeds that comfortable. Just spent five nights away, and despite the temprature dropping to below freezing a couple of times, he was fine.
I know that parting with your tent, will be like parting with an old friend, but go on, enjoy your new toy - you are still camping.
