we have a cabanon tent its three years old and we would like to know after how long we should re-proof the canvas and what with.we dont have any leeks in it yet.
You don't need to reproof a cotton canvas tent until it starts wearing thin, which in the case of Cabanon canvas should take about 15-20 years worth of regular use. OR until you start messing about cleaning it with soap based compounds. Brush off dried stains, sponge with plain water and dry it well beteen uses and you may never have to reproof it in your lifetime.
As others have said Cabanon and reproof don't belong in the same sentence, How ever prolonged use abroad in strong sun may mean a reproof job but not for many years, UV breaks down proofing more than good old British rain
