Just getting a bit sentimental about the summer months. We managed 4 trips this year, which all in all was quite dissapointing. The weather wasnt really this years issue personally. It was something a bit more serious. Hopefully it will be over by the end of next month and all being well we can plan a lot more trips next year. Did anyone else feel that this year was dissapointing for us campers?

Dezzie in your gallery pics one of them (and on the tent pics thread) is called Heaven - where were you camping? I did ask before on a thread but forgot what one it was so didn't get the answer so apologise if I missed it.
We started so late in the season that I haven't any experience of summer camping Last trip was at half term - really looking forward to next summer though. (If we ever get one)
Hope next year is better for you.

Hiya,
Its a place in Cumbria called Faughhead. I reviewed it too. Adults only site, so for a change it was just me and my OH. Its between Penrith and Carlisle.
Heres a panoramic pic of the site.

I will never go on a Bank holiday again, total ruination of your time, overcrowded, over priced, and jammed roads. yes and the weather was the normal wall to wall potty fill.
Had a week away in July, in Suffolk, and caught one of the few times with good weather. Then a week in France, but no more time to get away. Really looking forward to next year. May spend some time in France again, but hopefully a few weekends here. Would like to visit Scotland if we get the chance.
------------- What light? I'm still looking for the tunnel.
We had our worst camping year ever this year and we've been camping for about 10yrs.
We normally get away most weekends from the end of May until the end of August plus 5-6 days for our main holiday.
This year we only managed 2 weekends away due to rubbish weather and money problems but we did get 10 days in the Loire Valley where if anything it was too hot but lovely.
We only started camping in May and managed a couple of weekend trips in the summer, one of which ended prematurely coz the rain was so dam relentless!!!
Probably the best weather we had was during a weekend at the end of September.
Next year i'm going to try and get at least 7 or 8 trips in...
Our best trip was to Anglesey 2nd week in September it was gorgeous & hot and we were facing south in a field all to ourselves - bliss!
I am so hopeful for next year, surely it will be half decent after the last two years of washouts. We are playing it safe and taking a long weekend each month from April in the hope we'll catch that warm weekend! However, we have got two weeks in France in August so hopefully it will all work out good!
Just noticed your going to Sequoia Park in France is that near Antibes, if it is just wanted to say we had a fantastic 2 weeks there 2 years ago, it was nice a peacefull even though there was so much to do in the area, and the train that goes along the sea front is brillient for days out, to Monoco, Nice, Canne, etc.
Hi Fiona ooh how spooky another Fiona with the same avatar. No this Sequoia Park is in the Charente Maritime hopefully it will be good, the kids are still very young so didn't want to travel too far from ferry port - just need decent weather!!
Only got going this year so had one weekend trip in first cheap tent (mid april) and then after getting a more suitable one we had a week in our so called Summer.
Hasn't put us off fortunately but would have liked to have made more use of our new tent. Lots planned for next year though so here's hoping!
------------- If you see a family struggling to put up the tent then it must be us!
I just thought I should add to this post, as the nightmare that I have had to endure is finally over. I've spent the last 6 months in complete limbo, due to a charge that was put on me by morons who forced me and my family out of our house through their violence towards me and my kids. It came to a head and one of them tried to attack me by jumping onto my moving car. They got to the police first however and told a pack of lies. I was charged and If found guilty I would have most definitely lost my licence (even though I've had a clean one for over 20 years)which would stop us going anywhere. I was in court on Thursday, and was found Not Guilty of ALL charges. This means My family and I can move on with our lives and look forward to Easter coming to get out on the sites again. And that family can look forward to being shown up as the liars that they are.
Sorry, just had to release there
