It`s been four months now but finally I feel the time is right to issue an apology to my Brats and any nearby campers. When packing up from our annual two week stay at Tregarton park I swore.....not a dam or blast but a full-on F word, whilst trying to take down the massive Lichfield in the storm from Hell, and standing in two inches of water. TWO hours it took, everything and everyone soaked through. The tent finally bundled into the trailer poured water all the way back to Blackpool, god knows what gear we lost, and the promises to buy a tin tent next year, but now I have mellowed, whisky has passed my lips, and maybe the sun will shine next year !!
I thought shouting swearing and fighting with your partner while putting up or taking down the tent was part of the holiday cos an awful lot of peeps do it.
It was you then No seriously I'm sure no one heard you and if they did they were prob to worried about getting their own tents down and stuff packed away.
The thing is next year it can only get better. Since the last couple of years have been pretty nasty weather wise then it must mean a good one for next year.
and you reckon buying a van stops the swearing just try putting up a full awning with your OH or forgetting to fill the aquaroll at night. or even worse when turning the aquaroll onto its side to move it and it lands on your foot
The Khyam instructions [should] make much of the scope for swearing practice.
"The unique click-lock fittings on the poles afford plentiful opportunities for extending the breadth and variety of your cursing as you pinch your fingers in them. This is especially the case when your hands are cold and wet (ie at any point during 2008) and the pain is considerably intensified."
Arnica cream should be included in the repair kit.
I never like arguing with OH, but it nearly always happens when we put our tent or camper up.But the making up after is great. Should this have been posted in the nookie thread?lol

When we went away in May I was tempted to drive home, leaving Richard alone on site. It was heaving it down when I was packing the car, and he wouldn't help because "it's wet out". I inadvertently forgot to pack the big bag of pegs we use, so we only had a few. Well it was all my fault, I should have checked. He should have got up off his a""e and helped - the kids did more. I was the one who had to drive into town, despite the fact that he knew the way and I didn't. Managed to get pegs without a problem. If it wasn't for the fact that the kids would have been bitterly disappointed I would have driven home.
Been there..Done that...had a few sweary words while pitching/unpitching..Anyone from a meet will tell you what I was like when I was trying to set up my TT(mostly alone)While the promised help(kids) disappeared in all directions as soon as we parked on site...Worst barney I ever witnessed was a couple in a two man tent pitched beside us one time..Started as they pitched 16:00 pm.. were still going at it at 3:00am in the morning..When..after me shouting at them to shut up..they got up de camped and left(still arguing!!! They left some gear behind (another tenter took it in..in case they came back for it)Meanwhile an elderly couple turn up and pitched an identical tent on the same spot!!! Origional guy turns up at 1:00am next morning and starts accusing the old couple of stealing his tent/gear(which he had taken with him when he left!!)Till most of the menfolk in surrounding tents got up and calmed him down...Turns out he had left Perthshire(where we were camped) got in the car..drove all the way to Blackpool..went to pitch his tent..found gear missing..left his..as it turned out(fancy woman??) in Blackpool??? and driven all the way back to Perthshire..still fuming...saw the identical tent..pitched where he had been..forgot?? he had taken his tent to Blackpool..and thought this old couple had pinched his gear!!!! What an absolute WALLY!!!!!!!
