Caster, I must have misunderstood the first post then.  I thought it said the Grandparents who helped one of the Angels was the only tent that wasn't slashed.

No, never had a problem.

Have had other campers in our tent though while we were out - taking in towels we had pegged out to keep them from rain.

To be fair though the stuff we have is fairly basic - only gets replaced when worn out. Even so I know of no-one who has had stuff half-inched.

never had anything stolen from us,but at truckfest scotland last year

a few of the other drivers had stuff nicked rear of tent slashed and in they

went but this year security is been increased hopefully nothing nicked

this year

That is right - my grandparents' things were left untouched because they had helped.

Sorry if my first post was not clear!

 

I think it is great that there seems to be very few bad tales regarding thieving... I wonder what the percentage is compared to staying in a hotel/b&b type place where you have a lock and key - unlike a tent/van etc - where trust is the only real thing in place!

 Only every had the tent raided once. The pesky grey squirrels got in because I didn't completely zip up the bottom of the door. They feasted on My wife's muesli & wholemeal bread but left my (unhealthy so she says) white bread & frosties alone. They with be wearing socks with sandals next time!

We've only had clothes taken in for us during a storm in France but nothing stolen ever.

Somebody on the caravan forum had their awning slashed and a coat taken over christmas though.
