We took our baby away in the van last february at 7 weeks old! He was fine, we we're due to take him in then tent in the may (he would have been 5 months old) by then but it got cancelled due to flooding! And as the weather wa so c**p last year we ended up using the van all the time.
All you need to do for night is take a vest, some fleecy all in one PJ's and maybe a little jumper and the gro bag sleeping bags are great as they can't get out of them! If you have EHU leave a small fan heater on over night to.
If a normal travel cot won't fit in the tent you may want to look at one of the samsonite pop up travel cots, they are much smaller than conventional ones.
The only thing I would say is rememeber a flask to heat bottles up in the night without having to boil the kettle!
Hoping to take our now 13 month old away in the tent early may bank holiday lets hope the weather is better
