Hi surfspud look forward to seeing you there!!! our Asda is also selling fold up tables (aluminium ones) for about a tenner as well for anyone who wants one - there was a thread on here the other day talking about them if i remember rightly... i had to restrain myself from getting ANOTHER one!!

We have been to Go Outdoors today and bought two Gelert Omni Executive chairs.They cost £7.19 instead of £18. They seem really strong and are very comfortable.

I popped to Go Outdoors too after reading this thread. Didn't need anything, but came back with two gas canisters & a set of thermals - ooooh, they're lovely for £7.99, black long sleeved top & leggings

Just noticed we are both off to Deers Glade too but we are going later in August. You been before?

I wish we had a good camping shop round here. We had a millets which was OK but closed just after I got into camping!

Hi surfspud, sorry only just noticed your reply!! To say that we have been to Deers glade before is an understatement!- we have been there about 15 times over the last few years its FAB. Only thing is we do tend to compare other sites to it. only negative is (as i said in my review) too many people know about it now! Don't let that put you off though, the setting is lovely and so is the local area. One reccomendation is to book a pitch in either the 80's or 90's (pitch no.s) as they are better drained and nearer the facilities and park (if you have kids).....

TBH i find Millets a tad expensive. We are fortunate enough to be in spitting distance of both "camping and General" (don't know if you've been but well worth the journey from Kent) which is HUGE and also "Allweathers"(smaller but really helpful with great service and some good bargains) sorry to rub it in but my "fix"is only 10 mins in either direction!! LOL

Lol. Will check them out. Only started camping last Easter and did not really start buying until the Summer so not had much of a look at the bigger stores.

Looking forward to Deers Glade. We are booked in so I assume we can check which pitch we are on, or can we ask for a specific one?

Yeah, you can ask for a specific pitch number. If you go onto their website you can download a map of the site with all the pitches marked out and numbered so (if available) you can request the pitch you like the look of....We usually go on 93.

I must admit we could use a smaller tent for weekends this year and a trailer, both pricy items so will be looking for bargains.
