I have just purchased a 'Camel SWTT71' trailer, similar size to the 'Erde 122', it was flatpack, price £179.00. It went together well, and seems well engineered. I have not towed with it yet, and wondered if anyone has any knowledge of this make of trailer???
Good trailers but make sure you have the correct tyre pressure, each tyre can take 265kg X 2 = 530kg total.at 60 psi. the max load for the trailer is 400kg. so ensure you have 40psi.
Be aware that the grease nipples on trailers like these are pretty poor, I snapped mine off and had to replace with higher quality ones just to be able to get any grease into the wheel bearings.
Thanks for that shame there is not one closer to northampton can't get that far away in the next few weeks due to work. If you need accessories for yours check out www.sparesworld.co.uk spare wheel £26.99 have seen places selling them for £45
Thanks for the info Nikki. I managed to get a spare wheel, plus fixing kit for £26 inc delivery off ebay. I hope you manage to find a trailer at the right price.
Regards
Pete.
P.S. In response to nicks post earlier, the grease nipples on the 'Camel' seem fine to me, but thanks for the comment.
Pleased to have been of help, I hope you manage to get one, they are a very sturdy trailer for the price. If you do get one, Maypole do a generic 4 x 3 tailored cover in black leather cloth, very thick & totally waterproof for £19.95, and are available from many car accessory shops, much better & cheaper than the halfords 'erde' one!
I purchased a 4'x3' trailer and have found it to be too small. I'll be obtaining another but this time it will be a minimum of 6'x4'. Better to be too big than too small.
