We have a small car and as the driver I refuse to tow but we always manage to get everything we need in the car (fiat punto !!!!)

If money is going to be tight then keep enough gear to ensure you can have cheap and well needed breaks (university= breaks needed trust me lol)

There are always cheap sites but only if you have camping gear and the cost of a basic site for a night is less than a good pee up :)

I sold a lot of my gear on ebay last year as went to folding camper from my hartford xxl even got a good price for that on ebay i think the time of year you sell is crucial and what time listing ends evenings are better and especially at weekends and try to offer postage i found a good courier parcels to go more people are able to bid on it then regarding price look at completed listings hope this helps samandbensmum
