Having read all the positive posts we've decided deltas are the way to go. As our new Sun Valley 6 is well packed away until our first trip is there a kind soul out there who knows how many we would need?

I think it's about 12 - 3 down each side (6), 3 at the back and 3 at the front

Hi
Who starts the threads,Not the members that know about them,it is the new members that are looking for advice if a member does not want to read about the advice been given to a new members don't click on to the thread ,it is as easy as that so they tell me.You see new members here about them and ask.So you members in the last few posts would prefer us members who don't mind informing our new member about the best pegs to use be it DGA a rock peg or a peg for pegging round the skirt. It is our duty as good members to pass on information to our new members on all subjects they ask about the next time you see delta pegs don't click on the thread then maybe one member may answer the new members question and and link him to the search results on the delta pegs. And as for wild camping I personally have spent many many weeks at a time on Dartmoor and Exmoor alone in all seasons and know a little about what is good for a tent in severe weather
Rex.

I agree with you, Rex. If it wasn't for the lack of words like "neutral" and "objective" or even "unbiased" when giving advice to new members. Secondly, I do not doubt your enjoyment nor experience in camping and I sometimes appreciate your advice as well as your enthusiasm, but you're not Gods gift to the Camping world, as I am not. So, may I suggest to consider incorporating more guidance for self education to new members instead of solely taking them by the hand through the shelves of your Campingland, telling them they can't go wrong with certain items or equipment... After all, when they go camping for real, you won't always be there to assist them in cases of camping emergency when they have to fend for themselves on those occasions where there are no other experienced campers to lend a helping hand.

By advising the last few members not to read not to read topics or posts if they don't like the content or intention of the thread one is actually telling them not to bother giving an alternate view on a topic, therefore rendering any thread useless for lack of opinions.

So, be prepared to be hackled, my camping friends, for the benefit of all members.
