hi all,

no1,  i have put up my new vango albany 800, up for the first time, and althoughh the out side looks good and strsight, and so does the ground sheet,  the insite bedrommes are way off the ground and seem far to hight,  this is a tunnell tent, how do i solve this,  is itto do with the spacing of the poles??/

no2,  what type of knot should i use to tye up the guide ropes, that dont have velcro

no3,  i have the tent up for the first time in garden, i dont want to leave it up for to long as it will kill the grass,   should i wet it with a hose pipe to swell the seams????  or is this a myth or wont it help.

I don't know about the first two, but Outwell recomend that you do water there poly cotten tents, and then leave to dry before putting away for the first time

no 1 when you step into the bedroom it seems to put a lot of strain on the poles as it pulls them down

no 2,  sorry should have explained better, yes what know do you use when packing up or do we all just wrap them up and call thet it

I have this problem at one end of my very similar design Vango Oregon. In my experience it's to do with pulling the tension straps at the bottom of the poles too tightly so that instead of making a nice inverted U shape the pole more goes into a part barrel hoop. Tension straps should be done up half way only until you put the inners up, then tweaked as necessary. Also make sure that the ends of the poles are pulled as far away from the other end as possible. It may be that in your care to line up the sides you've been tucking the pole ends in and under. They need to spread.

As to tying the guylines up when packing away I never bother. Guylines can still be damp when the canvas is bone dry and if you wad them up it's a good place for mould to start, rather than spread them out. If you really want to fold them up though make long loops of about 12", then tie the bundle in a single knot. Or use an elastic band.
