hi everyone... i put a post on last week about me and the wife going away this weekend camping for a few days and how she probably wouldnt want to go as she thinks its still too cold and me solo camping . anyway she doesnt fancy it so me and my mate are trying it , were off to the shady oak pub in beeston just too test the elements and give the tent a bit of an airing and sample the ale and food in the pub (has you do ) the the location looks nice and the reviews good and the tent tariffs excellent ,also the gentleman i spoke to very friendly , anyway if anyones there this weekend ..sat - sun were in the grape/ dove orchy 600 if anyone wants to say hello...see you ....stewey
Have a lovely time, just back a load of bedding and warm clothes and a hip flask with your favourite spirit!

Have a great time, We went to hereford this weekend in our tent and it was great, we had ehu and an electric heater and our double sleeping bag with out mummy ones lay on top and it was plenty warm enough,
Besides if you drink enough in the pub you won't notice the cold!

Also going this weekend - slightly spoiled by the possibility that i have to go into work for a couple of hours Saturday morning, but at least it will be warm in the office!!

Very jealous - but given I'm due to add an addition to the Trixie clan any day now not very practical for us to be camping I should stay away from this site as it keeps enticing me to book somewhere!
Have fun, I wanted to take our new tent on its first trip this weekend but my boring hubby says its too cold (even the kids were almost convinced). We have booked for Easter so guess I'll have to wait till then! I'm sooo jealous.
hi stewey we were camping at the red lion in febuary and a friend of ours was camping at the shady oak with the two sites only been a couple of miles apart we went to the shady oak to vist them while the hardstanding pitches seemed ok the grass pitches were in a terrible state, hope they are ok for you now and you have a good time camping, by the way the pub does a nice pint of larger
