we are looking at booking for August and we are getting quotes of £30-£35 a night for a family of 5 that sounds a bit dear to me how much is everyone else paying??
hi craig we are going on a rally with ukcs in august bagwell farm dorset, only 16.50 per unit a night with hook up, take a look at it on the meets page
Camping and caravan club temporary holiday site for us whitsun week and August school hols .
Bank Farm , Gower .
£8.50 per night per family per pitch. No electric available in this field.
The same site charges around £20 a night if booked direct.
We pay £35 to join CCC and it pays for itself, in that we save in site fees the first week.
The CCC have hundreds of temporary sites all around the country with really low cost camping . Some are just a basic field , some, like bank farm are holiday parks .
We are looking at the last week in May, and most are coming back at around £25 per night. With electric hook up, and extra car. We look for somewhere with a play area as it usually means that there will be other kids on site - so we hopefully lose ours for hours on end. Having spent holidays as a child, where I was not allowed to play with other children, I no how lonely it is with just adult company.
There are plenty of sites at £16 or under for family of 4 (I wouldn't pay more than that). My favourite site is (or was last year) £12! You pay for a bit of grass, toilet and shower wherever you are. The 'fancy' sites charge extra for all the facilities anyway and make even more money out of you!

Oh no that sounds so sad!!!
We are only paying £35 a night in France but I know Cornwall & Lakes command very high fees- we are going to some great sites this year ranging from £15 a night to £23.50 at Plassey which is really good as under 5s are free so both mine go free & £25.50 in Cornwall all with ehu but then we only have 2 kids and one is under 3 so it would be a lot more if we had more.
£14.75 per night with EHU - 2 adults, one child - in Cornwall mid August. I would refuse to pay over £20 a night, coz as someone else said you are only paying for a bit of grass, small amount of leccy and the shower/toilet facilites.

Roll on the next camping trip!
Hi. We live near the Lancashire / Cumbria border (about 1/2 hour - 1 hour) from main lake district but even for a quick weekend away we wouldn't camp there. We always go to the Yorkshire Dales if we don't want to go so far. The site fees are so much cheaper and IMO the area is just as nice. To camp at peak times with a big tent in the Lakes it would probably be cheaper to go to a B&B!!!!!
In the summer we have always tended to go to Scotland and on a site with plenty of facilities / play areas/ beach etc. have never paid more than around £20 ish per night. That's for 4 of us, dog & big tent.
