Hiya was at Poundland today and was like a kid in a toy shop, they have loads of really useful camping bits and pieces in!
I got myself some picnic rugs (they are not bad at all for a £1) & some UFO lights, but they had the metal cutlery sets, enamal plates & cups, groundsheets, (thinking of getting one of them for the entrance to protect the carpet) They have a really funky pink fluffy push on light for your little princess also loads of outdoor toys, badmington rackets, tennis rackets and kites!

I bought my camping buddy a UFO last year there as part of her birthday present. She loved it! I need to replace mine (how I lost it I still don't know!) and will treat myself to a few other bits. I was on their website hoping they had this stuff in the other day, but they are not advertising it yet. I need to go...

I love Poundland for stuff for the caravan, they do the collapsable buckets with a sponge for a quid too!
Shame we dont have one anywhere local to where I live - I think the nearest one is 60 miles away!
You must be same as me then. Nearest in Carlisle?
We have just discovered that Darlington is the same distance away as Carlisle from us and has more interesting shops (hate shopping) like Primark (nearly teenage daughter)
I bought some ufo lights from them last year and they worked fine. Also got some aluminum mess tins. Will use them again this year so a pound or two well spent. Watch out for people on ebay selling them marked up 500%
Picked up a set of cutlery there the other week, as I needed to make a start on renewing stuff for when I camp in the tent. Get lots of stuff from there, including things like camera cases, for the pocket cameras.
Also keeping an eye out in my local bargain shop, as they have good stuff at low prices. Going to get some nice mugs for the house, and use some of the older ones for the tent. Also going to get some nice mugs for the camper.
I have two sets of some stuff - one for the camper and one for the tent.
I think they are a pretty good place for the basic stuff. I picked up an inflatible pillow, enamel bowl, plate and cup, a water carrier and a cutelry set today.
do a search onthe forum for "ufo light" and you should see a few threads about them.
Basically a disc with a row or 2 rows of LED lights around the edge and 3 batteries inside. Very good battery life and good light output for a cheap price.
Personally having bought the Poundland UFO and the ASDA UFO I would pay the extra £1.90 and get the ASDA one as it has an extra row of LED's..... though the extra light output is not massive when both rows are on, it gives a little extra flexibility.
Wilko's also sell the same UFO's as ASDA but a few pennies dearer.

Planned for next year, hopefully!
Summer Solstice wild camp.
Chilled in a Field, July.
Crantock, August. Fouth year with the fantastic Quechua Base Seconds 4.2!
..... and the odd night wild camping in my Argos 1 man tent...
In our local one today they had ufo lights, a bit different to last years ones. They are green plastic , not white. Slightly bigger , but less lights around , although the bulbs looked a bit bigger than last years. the hole in the middle had what looks like an adjustable bit , I think maybe to fit on the pole of a parasol, could be great for patio table. I picked one up , but the queue was massive so left without buying it.
