Hi everyone first post so here goes...took the 8 & 10 year olds away last year and they absolutley loved their first camp only one prob being they both said they were a bit nippy in the night, someone has told me that the bluecat heater would solve the problem, can anyone tell me please ...are they safe within a nylon tent?do they need plenty of ventilation?or should i invest in a EHU and go for a portable electric heater..one last thing (sorry to nag) i've also been told that the skirting type heaters can be left on all night...Happy camping all !!
i would invest in the ehu i personally dont like the idea of gas inside the tent but its ages since i camped ther are loads on here who will tell you yes or no ive a heater that shuts off if knocked over
I've got a BlueCat heater just to take the chill off the living area on summer trips, but I wouldn't dare leave it on overnight.
I would advise you to get EHU (they are coming down in price now), and take a fan heater for the living area, and skirting heater/s for the bedroom/s. We've used a skirting heater for two of us in a 4-berth pod, and it's lovely & cosy (hubby said it's warmer than our bedroom at home with the CH on!). Skirting heaters are silent running, so it won't keep you awake. However, a fan heater will warm up the living area quickly when you arrive back at the tent in the evening, or use it on a chilly morning.

What is a skirting heater and where can I buy one?
I bought our Glen skirting heater from Argos, £24.99 two years ago, but I think they're still the same price now. It's 82cm long, but very slim (about 20cm I think), so it packs easily in the back of the car boot. It's only a 500w, but it's perfect for a bedroom pod.
