Well, me and the OH are starting to feel like big kids !
We're both first timers, and its a funny story, because for the last 5 years she's been nagging at me to try camping. And i've been sticking by my guns that there is no way i'm sleeping in a tent in the middle of nowhere ! Anyway, it recently dawned on me that camping isnt like the boy scouts etc, and dealing with the wildlife isnt going to be my job on a campsite. So, after being rather impressed with 'modern' tent designs I bit the bullet and bought a tent ! Now we're both like big kids sitting around with glum faces cause we want to go camping now ! What makes it even worse, our tent arrived today, a Horizon 8 and we took it round the mother in law's (Our garden is non exsistent nevermind big enough) to give it a test run !
I was rather impressed with how easy it went up (No wind tho, so that might have been a factor) and we were both very impressed with the space inside. Most of the time it will be the two of us and two under 4's. Might take one of the grumpy teenagers sometime too. And even 'grandad and granny' are considering taking up with us sometime too ! But the wind was taken out of my sails when it came to trying to put it back in the tiny suitcase thats supplied ! Took a good 20 mins and one of Mother in Law's old tights (Dont ask !) to get it back in. Jeez.
Anyway, i'll stop rambling on, now we just need all the rest of the kit, I guess this is where the fun starts. If anybody in the NE area has surplus gear that they want to sell on, feel free to drop me a message. (Cheeky I know..lol)
