I read in a recent thread that a least one garden centre in the wigan area has now got a campingshop/display unfortunatley I now cant find the thread. Can anybody help please

The Wigan Go outdoors tent display isn't that extensive. We are going to Winfields (Hasslingden) on sunday, apparently they have had their tent displays up a few weeks now, 55 tents on display!!!!! 

Reemo......Winfields has really organised its camping/outdoor gear for this year. We live near by and it is much more organised now.

The tents are arranged by manufacturer making it easier to work your way around. The indoor section is also better organised too again most of the gear arranged by manufacturer.

Dont need any new gear but OH takes us there at least once a month 'just in case'!

i personally think its pretty poor compared to last year, where have all the polycottons gone?

Nice one... We went in February when the tent display area was empty  The place was still really busy though.

 

creders/smee05... Did you notice if there was a Nevada and an Orchy there? I phoned and asked them but they "didn't know" (so annoying!!!). I want to look at both (pref in mocca), can't decide which one to buy. Gonna try Winfields and golden days on sunday.

to be honest, i'm not sure - and neither are the staff too..

its a great place dont get me wrong, its just that i think they have dumbed themselves down for the credit crunch and are looking to sell as many 'cheaper' tents this year as they can.

there is nothing really there for those that know exactly what they want.

Called at Golden days garden centre today and saw the Yeomans shop and tent display... They've got Outwells, Outwells and a few more Outwells. Good if you're after an Outwell but all the Vangos are still in the bags on the shelves.

Can't fault the staff, very helpfull

I went to the golden days one the other day and they had one vango orchy and the rest were outwells. Which is ok if all you want to do is look at outwells!
