Well what can I say! My first camping trip ever and it rained all the time!!
I only booked for 2 nights but as the time came closer to going I was excitedly thinking about extending to the extra night - we packed up the car in lovely sunshine and I was really up for it - got to Wisbech and it was overcast and "dank" just got the tent up (with no problems thankfully) and it started to rain! It didn't stop till the morning we left, so although we packed up in the rain - we now have a went tent to try and find somewhere to dry out as it doesn't fit in the garden!!
Anyway, OH loved the fact that everytime he asked for something my reply was "its in the car" - must remember to unpack everything next time!!
What can I say - It was very wet and very cold! We had no heater and no EHU, I actually took clothes out of my bag before we left coz I thought I was taking too much - won't do that again! I was very cold, was sick on the first night, got into by the 2nd night and by the morning we were leaving I was really getting into the swing of things - I swear the dogs were warming than we were coz I rembered all their stuff!
Loved it really and can't wait till the the end of May bank hoiday coz we are off again (with more clothes)

It rained, you were cold and you loved it....
A camper is born :)
Glad you still had a good time and are off again soon

Exactly what Angie said!
Our first trip together was 2 nights away, and it didnt stop raining. He was a camper already, but it hooked me and our friends too. If you can camp in rain and cold with no EHU, you'll camp for life!

Ahhhh I remember my first camp trip We had a cheap tent, no SIG so very cold and draughty...and we went in May, only for the weekend though. It was freeeeeeeezing and rained all the time, we had no EHU and only took our duvets and sheets with us We soon learnt our lesson lol! Its been proper sleeping bags and EHU for me since. Glad you enjoyed it though

Obviously depends on your house but we hang ours over the banister, and stop it sliding using a hand guy line. We turn it regularly until is all dry and then drop it down straight into the bag. Its not ideal but we're in the same situation - no room in the garden.
Glad you enjoyed it in spite of the rain. In some ways it better to have rain/cold on your first trip as it gets it over with and you know you can enjoy it in all conditions not just perfect ones.
Cheers

Now that is the tale of a true camper! I must say I find that if I am only camping for a couple of nights it takes me till we are ready to pack up to get everything the way I want it! I'm sure if I camped for a month I'd spent the time faffing around!
Gald you enjoyed it though - where did you stay? I'm about 30 mins drive away from Wisbech and we have had miserable weather this bank holiday - I've slept in the garden with my son the whole of the weekend as we couldn't get away anywhere!

Stayed at Parkland Holidays just off the A1101, there was plenty of room there!
Unfortunately can't hang tent of the bannister as we live in Maisonette but just going to put the tent up in the garden "in Shifts" one end first then the other - should get the basics dry!!
Oooh - just read up about Parklands - sounds good - my son goes to school in Wisbech and I've been looking for a half decent site so that I can pitch during Friday afternoon then pick him up from school for the weekend - sounds ideal!
Just read your review - I like the sound of the marked out large pitches too.

End of May Bank Holiday we are off to Breckland Meadows in Swaffham - heres hoping for better weather!! (But this time I will be taking more layers!!!)
It reminds me of that old KitKat advert, when that zany glam punk rock band audition for a record executive, and the record executives reply was: '' You can't sing. You sound terrible and you look awful!..... You'll go along way! ''. I'm glad you had such a good time.
