Thanks for the messages folks. As Valk says. Going wild camping in our Norfolk Lake would be a bit conspicuous.

Actually, last night more than made up for not going to the match this weekend.   My kids are members of the Clyde Crew - its like the kids fan club for the team. Anyway it was the player of the year party at football circus in Xscape (Braehead).   The WHOLE team were there and we got to meet them and have a chat with them. They joined in with the kids in the fun and a great night was had by all. It was a fantastic night and they are a great bunch of lads. I was also quite shocked to see that my 9 year old son has a VERY natural talent for football - he can play left and right footed. Maybe a future Clyde player then?      As for the camping. We're going to try and get away for the preseason tour. Last year it was Norfolk that the team went to. So hopefully this year it will be somewhere equally as nice - although they are supposed to be playing Man Utd during the summer. I WILL be at that game, if I have to walk, im going. LOL

Hi dezzie

Sorry you didn't manage to get away.  We took the caravan to Barnsoul - just outside Dumfries - to support friends on their first ever camping trip.

They managed one night then packed up[:o)].  Awake until at midnight with the noise of the owls - brilliant sound to be kept awake with - then they got up at 0430 because (1) they were so cold and (2) they'd bought sleeping bags that were too small.  Mummy style but so tight that he could only have his arms across his chest or outside the bag - neither suited and he couldn't roll around inside it.

More outdoor kit shopping coming up and they just might take our advice this time on the purchase and, even more importantly, on trying it out at home, first.

We stayed from Friday to this morning and had a brilliant time.  No football but loads of wildlife and dog walking so still a great weekend.  £64 including EHU for the four nights but we ended up coming home on the back of a breakdown truck - something about a universal joint on the Discovery's prop shaft  [:o)][:o)][:o)].  Thought we'd had a fairly cheap long weekend, especially having met up with my folks and been treated to lunch yesterday.

Cost of repair to car will probably mean a delay to us getting our tent, and probably also means we won't get away with the caravan in May[:(].

Have a great time with Clyde playing Man United - how cool would that be??  Good luck to your son and hope he continues to enjoy and excel at the beautiful game [:o)].

Thanks Feecamp. Theres nothing like lying in a tent listening to the sounds of the night. Hope your car doesnt cost too much to get repaired. I ended up being towed off the M80 last week after a blowout. Zafiras are great till you get a puncture. My model doesnt have a spare!!, just a puncture repair kit. Thank heavens for the RAC or it would have cost a lot of money to get towed!!

I cant wait till they play Man Utd. We played them at home a few years back and i was working that day so missed it, but my oldest son was at the game and they only beat us 5 - 1 LOL.
