Hi all, drove to the above today to try and see a vango large canopy for our vango icarus 500.Talking to the very helpful man in the shop,we found out that the canopy does not come in any colur that even remotely matches the blue of the tentand worse still it can only be fitted to the side door, not the main front door that stupidly leans inwards so that when opened after heavy rain lets in a surprisingly large amount of water.....It also seems that the canopy isn't a very good fit any way and when the guys are tightened it collapses the roof of the tunnel!!!!!!knowing he was doing himself out of a sale,he advised us not to buy and still had time to chat about the tent, camping in general and a very interesting chat about ABC in Swansea
All seems to be fairly grim including the son leaping the counter to assault customers(been done for it before!) trying to drive other retailers out of business and various other dodgy tactics...ho,hum
Anyway i just wanted to recommend Bridgend camping and leisure to everyone on here.If you ever want really good advice from friendly, helpful staff, this is the place to go
I love this camp shop. The man in the shop is very helpful. They also try to do a price match on the online shop. Unfortunately he couldn't match the price I found for my Vango Tigris as it was an amazing package deal, but at least he was honest enough to tell me that he couldn't match it and that I should go ahead and buy it from the other shop! I'll still be going back for my other stuff though as he is so helpful!
we got it from camping international. It was £289 for the tent, footpring and carpet, sold as a package. I've just had a look now and they seem to have stopped the package and are selling the tent for £245. Maybe if you email them they will give you the package. hope this helps!
I was in the shop today. Can't praise the owners and staff highly enough. A couple were in there buying their first big tent, and they must have had at least 40 minutes of personal attention, going from tent to tent having the merits (and more importantly) the demerits of each tent explained. The staff are friendly not pushy, and are very helpful, including carrying bags to my car when my recalcitrant toddler needed to be put in his car seat. I haven't made a big purchase there yet, but when we come to buy a weekend tent, I know who I'll be going to.
Well worth a trip - good range, fair prices, great advice.
