Try your local fishing shop , they will do fish filleting knives in sheaths , they are extremley sharp and would be more than strong enough for camping.

I finally managed to get 2 from Dunelm last year and the rubber sheath is quite strong.

Plus they come in all kinds of lovely colours!

The other way to do it is to buy cheap kitchen knives from a supermarket (really cheap there) and to keep them together in a small sandwich box. This box is then kept in the kitchen equipment storage box and is therefor always together when we pull the stuff required for camping from the shelves in the garage.

Regards

Gio

Hi

We have a selection of these knifes made by Kuhn Rikon. They are excellent and are available in a range of different colours.

Link

We purchased them from a local hardware store.

Hope that helps

Kevin

ps. My first post - these pages are excellent so I thought I should share at last!

I have two of those Stay Ever Sharp serrated knives 1 large, 1 small and never find the need for anything else.  They came with a carboard sheath which more than did the trick, and now they've perished made my own, but keep these 2 knives seperate from the others which I store in 'bacon' tupperwear boxes which fit neatly under the stove (where the grill should go) when travelling.

Hi, and welcome. We have those knives too. One flat and one serrated. Only.y problem is they are better than the ones indoors so they have made their way into my kitchen drawer.

Snap we have one each of these, the bright colours are great as the kids know not to touch them. OH to short to get the cook box down in the garage so they haven't made it to the Kitchen yet

Head cook sell the full range. They are brilliant and I use them at home and when camping. I just trow them into the "kitchen box" and can find them - brightly coloured - without chopping my fingers off!
