I really wanted to get away this weekend but a bit tight for money so couldnt afford it.
So sunday night we are going to pitch up my parents house for one night (no pitch fees:D) kids are really looking forward to our first outing this year. Luckily my parents have a huge back garden so plenty of space.
Next weekend we are off to the witterings for one night and again on the 15th before our 3 nighter in may half term. I am very excited now:)
------------- 2009:
3rd May - Arundel - 1 night
8th May - Witterings - 1 night
15th May - Witterings - 1 night
25th May - Nutbourne - 3 nights
We're dong a three night garden camp this weekend.
Off next weekend, hopefully for two nights - but as Richard;s shifts have been totaly changed, after this and a very important family event (tomorrow) was arranged, we may only be staying one night. If Richard can not get next Sunday off, we will just pull out late Saturday night.
We had our tent up in our garden last week , and although me and the OH didn't sleep in it my boy and his mate did , we did have a nice bbq and all go and sit in to eat though
im hoping to get ours out today and do a bit of garden camping. we do it often if we cant get off. i cant wait to check it out again. its been a long winter!
We decided we DEFINATELY were NOT camping this weekend.
Just had a phone call from my best friend whos invited us to join her and kids for 1 nights camping ... guess what, Im rushing round trying to remember where I put the sleeping bags etc !!!!! Happy days !!!!
Have garden camped before but now OH doesn't see the point. Every so often I just put a small tent up in the garden and pretend I need to check the water proofing of it. I think she sees through me though. Hoping to do a one night camp at Bala weekend after next.
Kids were out last night for a "waterproofing test" prior to next trip - they argued hard and have managed to persuade me to let them have a 2nd night - now...how much shall I charge them for EHU??!!
Just my opinion, but I think camping should be a minimum of 2 x nights. Just think of the effort involved; loading all the gear in the car, driving to the camp site. Unloading the car, pitching the tent, blowing up the airbeds, or setting up the campbeds, getting your bearings round the campsite. Really need 2 nights to do justice to it all. What do you all think?

but if its in your garden then there is no packing car, no un packing, you know the site like the back of your hand and you know what the facilities are like. so no effort. also you dont have to rush to get a decent pitch.
My son was invited to a camping party at the end of last summer. It was just one night and was only 5 miles from home. I did wonder why we were bothering to pack up all the stuff for one night but the kids loved it
And whats more when I realised I'd forgotten sons sleeping bag DH nipped home and fetched it!!!
