I'm fairly new to regular camping so this is probably an embarrassingly obvious newbie question, but I've just purchased an Outwell Colorado 5 tent and a footprint groundsheet.
The footprint groundsheet is large enough to either go under the sewn in groundsheets under the bedrooms or under the living area groundsheet (which isn't sewn in). It isn't large enough to go under both. Is this normal? I was expecting a sheet large enough to cover the entire footprint of the tent.
It's labelled as a Colorado 5 footprint groundsheet.
I'm not sure there is a footprint for the Outwell Colorado5.The groundsheet is made for the living area.
When we had one,we use to put polythene sheeting under the bedroom inners to keep the underneath clean and instead of using the supplied groundsheet for the living area we used a breathable one.
The groundsheet you have got should have been supplied with the tent to fit the living area.
Its up to you whether you put anything under the sleeping inners.

Thanks for the response. Sorry I wasn't clear, I have two groundsheets, one for the living area that came with the tent and a separately purchased footprint groundsheet.
Thinking about it, I think what I've purchased is to go under the bedrooms.
As far as I am aware because the living area has a separate grounsheet the footprint is for under the bedrooms. I think that Outwell tents with a SIG have a full size footprint but the non SIG tents just have a smaller one for the bedrooms.
Hi Fen Boy, you've got me thinking as we've just bought the same - Got it out of the bag this morning but must say it looks big enough to go under each - will confirm this weekend when we try it out !!!!
we have an outwell georgia and footprint,it does just go under the sig or the bit of tent with built in ground sheets it does not go under the porch area that has a seperate bath tub sheet its normal.
Hi Fenboy - well I said I'd report in after this weekend and let you know how we got on with our Colorado 5 footprint!!!!
We put ours under the bedroom and it fits perfectly and therefore when putting the tent away today the underside of the bedroom was fine and we were able to fold the tent onto it still keeping it clean . However I must say that I've learned from this weekend (the ground was absolutely saturated and muddy) that I'm tempted to buy a huge tarpaulin or a footprint to go the length of the tent so that the tension straps on the living room side don't get full of mud (as ours have).
Also can anyone help me as to why the water would be coming down the side door zip and through the gap between the tent skirt - onto the ground sheet and soaking it around the sides (I mean puddles)!!! Carpet was soaking - Wondering whether its because we didn't have the tension right?
we have an outwell norfolk lake which has a zig but not in front porch area, we use a blue tarp from Johnstones paints it is just big enough for the full tent and comes with eyelets so you peg it down without holing it. do a search via their website for local branch and but one, got a bonanza at mo so going cheap.
All Outwell tents without sig are supplied with a groundsheet for the living area. If you buy a footprint then it's to go under the bedroom pods. This means that when you pack up, the bottom of the bedroom pods are clean and dry (and have been protected from stones etc) and you only have 2 groundsheets to clean up when you get home!
