I'm sorry, I haven't read the whole thread so apolagise if I'm repeating what others have said.

three seasons ago, I drove alone, with my then six year old son to disney paris, from Sheffield!

I took a pop up, drove down to Folkestone - stayed overnight then travelled to France the following morning.

If I were to do the journey again this is the way I'd do it.

Sara H, thanks for that info, i am the sort of person that wants to get it over and done with, but i will have long rests at services and my daughter who can drive will take over, but ime not a good passenger, so will have 1 eye open. We have promised we would go south for 3 years and i have always chickened out, but this time i have booked and no matter what we will go.

Happy honeymoon for july Mrneilless. We are off on friday morning and cant get on the camp until 2pm

dogscenturion - you CANNOT be as bad as my late hubby who was a test driver - the sort that tested cars to destruction! I once went along  to one test and never went again - they were blowing tyres out at speeds higher than 80mph. He would NEVER sleep with someone else driving and I felt like every time  I drove it was a very prolonged driving test!

A couple of times a year I need to do the Tobermory via ferries - Edinburgh - Tobermory via ferries run, uploading or offloading DS's uni living gear. This is serious stress. It's first ferry off and last back and altho no m-ways - any incidents can involve major detours or long waits. My journey is planned between specific points - loo/fuel/mobile phone access - and timed almost to the minute as far as planned travelling time with delays built in.  It's 300 miles in a day constrained by ferry times.

You have two drivers, no ferry timetables to comply with. RELAX  - it'll be fine.

You will be better hoping for NO WIND and NO RAIN . hahaha

Our luck is, it always starts to rain when we are at the half an hour to go stage !
Then always stops half an hour after we have pitched !
