I always wanted to take my son camping as I used to love it as a kid but a dodgy back and joints meant I could never do it on my own but then I met Simon and he jumped at the idea when I suggested it and by the end of the day we'd bought a tent and made a start on getting the other essentials.
He does most of the work driving, putting the tent up, cooking and emptying the BWL. He is lovely and warm in the sleeping bag, even when I'm freezing, and he can handle the stupid collapsible windbreaks and let me know when I'm starting to cook in the sun. He likes to keep the same hours as me when camping too, early mornings and early to bed, has no problems just sitting around chilling or setting off to do something more strenuous at the drop of a hat (as far as you can now we have a two year old as well as a fourteen year old). He lets me choose when and where we go and just gives his approval.
In fact typing this has just made me realise again how lucky I am!

I already have my ideal camping partner...my OH.

Simon wouldn't be free around the second week in August would he?
