Hi just wondered if anyone with a trailer out there could recommend a break down recovery service. We only require it for our car and trailor for the duration of our break half term. Don't want to risk the car being towed without trailer!
Cheers

I cant see 'personal belongings' covering a trailer. I would think a call to most recovery companies would easily get a trailer covered tho.
That said, id be surprised if you found cover for such a short period - but, you never know!
we just recently purchased cover, best bet is to use confused.com, we got a good deal and most will cover you for trailor aswell, coz thats what we needed.
We have RAC Onward (Tesco points) and when we called them out to a problem with the TT a couple of years back the very nice man said if there was a problem with the car and they couldn't fix it by the road, they'd transport both car and TT home. If there was a problem with the TT they'd fix it by the side of the road but they would not transport the TT home for us if they couldn't fix it. So we'd then have to leave it by the side of the road, or arrange our own recovery.
I belive though if you join the RAC through the C&CC then your trailer or van is covered for everything, including being taken home for you.
We know of an incident where the trailer came off the car. The towbar come off. The Rac would not recover the trailer because it was no longer attached to the vehicle, they charged to recover the trailer, £160 to do 30 miles. Smallprint in their policy. Check your cover.
we are covered with swinton for our car Insurance. On our last camping trip we had borrowed a friends trailer and the tyre went whilst on the motorway. The recovery company took the trailer to where we were camping and we followed behind in the car. We then sorted the tyre the next day so the childrens holiday wasn't spoilt.
