All of the above mentioned, except re animals.  Basically to extend the front area of the tent and gazebo to give a bigger slightly sheltered area to sit in etc and not have to battle too many extra elements, .  But primarily to encourage people to give a wider berth round me, bit like a garden wall, as have found that not everyone pitches observing the courtesy distance between tents.

we use a windbreaker like many others for a bit of privacy but also to cook and eat in the area that is shielded.

I find having winbreaks up along with machine gun turrets,a moat and barbed wire helps to make things a little more private.

Only kidding,a bit of privacy mainly(you will find the caravan brigade goes walkabout just after tea to have a good nosey at everything)

Exactly what i was going to say

I don't think it is just the caravanners!  There have been several posts on here about nosing at other people's tents and equipment.  (In a nice way of course)

I just tend to use the wind break for sheltar for the cooker and bbq.

Errrr.. we use it to break the wind?   basically we use it to cut down the wind on the cooking area mainly, but generally we don't use it.   Would hate to sit behind it - I like to see everyone passing...

Last bank holiday at Cotswold View we loaned it to friends so that they could stop people cutting across their pitch to get to the toilet block and reception.
