I use a fan heater in my tent, and I think it's much better than my brothers halogen heater. More so, at easter trip they went out and bought a fan heater

Just a cheap fan heater for us, warms tent the very quickly and can be used fan only if its too hot. Best check anything you buy will cut out if it gets knocked over.

We have a fan heater and a hologen heater i prefer the fan it warms the tent up alot faster went away for one night in april and it turned cold at night put the fan heater on and after 5 mins had to turn it off it was too hot. The hologen one is really bright i will be leaving it at home in future (thats my cutting down on what we take bit)

We are going away in june and going on a site that allows camp fires we have bought a dutch oven, tripod etc. If the rain keeps up we will be cold and hungry lol.

First time ever in over forty years of camping( getting old now) I had  EHU and a fan heater, It was pure magic!! We have a much smaller tent now and can just squeeze the lot of us in so we thought the fan heater would be best in a confined space, smaller to pack as well.

Cheapie Argos one, did the job great.

We have the Outwell M (medium) fan heater and are very impressed with it, it is very warm and relitively quiet.  It has a high setting 1500W and a low setting of 750W.  It has an auto cut out (a pin in the bottom that gets depressed when it is stood properly that allows it then to work) so that if it gets knocked over etc by pets, children it automatically switches off.  The case does however get hot so you need to be careful if little hands are around but this has been the case with the other fan heaters we have had.

It also has an auto thermostat so you can heat the tent to a comfortable temperature and then turn the thermostat control down until the heater goes off.  The heater will then automatically go on and off to maintain that temperature.

As I said we think ours is great, very toasty and warm.

We also have a small gas heater for when we have no EHU (electric hook up) but are very very careful when using it, making sure that it isn't anywhere that it can be knocked over, watch the dog like a hawk and make sure it can't come into contact with anything else (you've just got to be really careful, sensible and make sure there is ventilation).

Hope this is of some help.

Katie

We started with a halogen heater which was ok for a couple of years but it lit the tent up like a beacon, and attracted all manner of wild life, fine it you are an entomologist, but me and my brats hate creepy crawlies in the night, once had a 3 1/2 inchwingspan moth live with us, so now we have copied most other campers and have a fan heater.

Thought I'd jump on the band wagon too!!

Fan heater for us - heats the tent up quickly. We just set the thermostat and leave it on all night with no problems - it just clicks on and off as and when needed.

cost us £2 from a car boot sale!!
