Hi,

We're off camping this weekend and as the forcast is terrible we decided to invest in a small gas heater for our Montanna 6. We decided to go for the sunncamp 2kw double burner as it fits on the big gas bottle we use for the cooker which would make it quite stable. As we have children we only plan to use it for short periods to warm the tent up before bed. It would not be left unattended! I was wandering about the fumes from the gas, will we need to have a window open for ventilation? This would seem to defeat the object of having a heater in the first place?

Would be great to hear from any of you lovely people who have this sort of set up or have used this heater in a tent. Thanks

I have never camped in a tent with sig, or used a gas heater but I would imagine you would need some ventilation because of both the fumes and the condensation.

We've got a small cartridge on that we use for heating up the tent at night and in the morning. It hasnt been used this year though, but we used it last year in our Utah with doors closed and within the sig. Athough the tent itself was doubleskinned, the ventilation could escape via the mesh doors and out under the flysheet. If used properly then I dont see the problem.
