Mine hates it, won't adapt and is a nuisance in a campsite so I gave up taking her camping years ago.  That's fine tho,' there's no compulsion on anyone to like camping so sometimes I go in my tent and she goes in B & B or a hotel.  She likes hotels, I don't so we're both happy!

Take care

R

I must admit to being that 'other half' when it comes to tenting.

I've always loved camping, but more kipping in the van, or in a caravan as opposed to a tent, didn't like the idea of being cold and soaked after the first heavy shower (one or two bad experiences in the past!)

We were seriously considering getting a caravan but never got round to saving for one, then she suggested getting a tent. Wasn't too sure at all but agreed to have a look, was surprised by the size and quality of tents, and the value for money. For the price of a decent detachable towbar we've bought a great tent (Sunncamp Evo 600DL), and there's no bother with towing, noseweight, storage costs. And of course we have a brand new tent, we'd have been looking at about £1k budget for a caravan (with the risk at that price of damp etc), for less than half that we've got started with the tent and enough gear to get started with.

Can't wait for our first proper outing in it!

My OH took a lot of persuading initially.  Loves it now but can't get her to do the short trip in "tiny" tent.  Gonna secretly take her to look around prospective campsite and see if it changes her mind.
