Hi all, we are based in South Wales and looking to camp for a week in August with our 14yr old. We have looked at places as far north as Blackpool and south, Isle of Wight. Can anyone give any recommendations? Preferably near the coast, maybe a swimming pool on site or near an outdoor activity centre but at a reasonable price? A tall order, I know!
You may be surprised at what your teen actually wants. Mine love somewhere simple as long as they're free to play football, swingball, etc. Their favourite (and mine) is Fforest Fields where they have a lake you can swim and boat on too.
We have 2 teenagers, and I have found that all they need is a mobile phone and a MP3, and if possible another teenager. If you can take a friend, then you would be more comfortable giving them a bit more freedom to do their own thing, without you. It will give them a break from parents, and you a break from them! I agree with 'katew' that they can surprise you and be quite happy with simple fun especially if they have a friend with them.
We have just returned from Woodlands near Dartmouth, it was fantastic...........not the cheapest but hardly spent anything whilst we were there....my boys are nearly 14 and 13 and they had a whale of a time!!! check it out at www.woodlandspark.co.uk
