What is your budget for the tent?

I really hate asking this but it does narrow the suggestions down a little lol

The equipment is easier. For your first trips you can use alot of stuff from home such as pots and pans, cutlery, duvets, pillows etc.

Tent is the most important item followed by sleeping arrangments so lets start with the tent

Oh and welcome to UKCS

Hi and welcome to UKCS. Be warned it becomes addictive. As Angie says, lets get you a tent first. Then you need something to sleep on, something to sit on and something to sleep on. After that, most things can be "borrowed" from home until you are addicted. Then you'll want everything ready packed in your trailer ready for a quick getaway.

Considering most people opt for a tent carpet that can cost a fair bit...

And need a porch/tarp/utility tent to cook under that also costs dollars...

What about this ?

Lots of space for 3 people plus gear, toys etc

Good make too

IMHO a good buy

Went to Go Outdoors the other day and liked the look of this http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/redirect.asp?redir=http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/tents/outwell-nevada-3-tunnel-tent/HEROTSEB290234

Seemed pretty big and soon the price is gonna be down to £89.99.  I think your nearest store is in Wakefield.

Last year we bought a Vango Diablo 400 from JR Leisure for £165-00 & it's big.

Full head height in the living room, large porch & 2 bedroom pods. What's more it stood up to one hell of a storm with no leaks whilst many of the tents around us just blew away. Highly recommended.

My choice would be the outwell nevada 5 at £231.99 looks to have enough space, so leaves room for storing, but once you start buying equipment you just can`t seem to stop. or is that just my problem!!    Happy hunting.

I am going to lay my head on the chopping block and disagree with Outwells as a choice...

They have alot of windows and windows mean 2 things... more heat inside the tent and more possible leaking points

Nice looking tents, no doubt about that but not what we would choose and one of the reasons I suggest the Vango package

Now where can I hide lol
