Depends how much you want to insure your tent and equipment for. There are insurance companies who specialise in tent/equipment policies. I would firstly estimate the amount of cover you require ie if a gale came over and the worst happened and your tent and equipment were wrecked how much would it cost to replace. You may then want to speak to your household insurer and make them aware and see whether they would cover it under your policy. If they do cover it some companies/policies will have a limit on the amount insured outside of the home eg £500, which you may feel is not enough to cover both the tent and your equipment. However they may offer to up the amount for a small added premium.
