going away for a week to a family week and we are camping. Only problem is that there isn't a site there flat enough for my tents..so ended up in Go Outdoors again looking at smaller tents. To compound the difficulty I will be there for the first three days with 2 sons and dog then he will follow. So we started looking at smaller tents (as it is a very exposed site).
we both decided upon pop ups, but he liked the Hi Gear Pitch and go 2 with extra poles for stability which has a fly sheet which does not cover it completely. I on the otherhand preferred the Vango Swift 300. So we have decided to have the battle of the pop-ups .....
Go Outdoors were brilliant though as I told them that I would only buy the tents if they demonstrated them going back into the bag, and the young chap rose to the challenge...even if Dh chipped in after half an hour to show him how the Swift went back in. I was very impressed, but then he can normally always get the tents back in their bags even if I never thought I would see the day when he bought a tent of his own volition!!!!
I popped the Swift up in the living room last night and got it back into its bag on the 2nd attempt. (I had to, it was trying to eat the sofa and the TV!) I knew years of folding kids pop up toys would one day stand me in good stead....
I'll let you know after we have been how the battle of the Pop-Ups goes.....
(And if I will stick the Orchy in as a back up for a campsite should they all fall down!)
