I have a vango tent carpet that says you can wipe it down but doesn't say that you can machine wash it (doesn't say you can't either!!)  What do you reckon has anyone ever washed theirs??   I was thinking a 30 degree and wash cycle??

Don't quote me on this but if you can fit in the machine I would give it a go, people hose them down,so don't know that gentle machine wash wouldn't be ok.

The one I have wouldn't go in mine, but I have washed picnic blankets that say wipe clean only!

If its the earlier green and blue check type carpet from Vango then dont put it in a washing machine it will be full of holes when it comes out or at least the top carpet layer will pull apart and show through to the foam underlay.

If you rub your thumb over the fabric and it parts fairly easily its the early type carpet and it will fall apart believe me. If its the later and tighter woven type then may be worth a go but be careful.

Oh crikey - saw the last 2 posts too late! eeeeek.................but thank goodness it was ok!!!  It is only 8 weeks old but got very dirty the first time we went camping.  I washed it on a 30 degree wash and didn't spin it, just let it drip dry - it is much much cleaner and hasn't fallen apart! PHEW!
