I know what you mean about Vango customer service its not the best and all they seem to do is direct you back to where you got the tent from.
As I said I am not expert on this type of thing, if it was normal tent fabric then yes tenacious tape is the best way to repair it but polycotton I would say is a different animal.
The best advice I can offer is to try these guys www.attwools.co.uk or 01452 742233 they have an excellent repair department and have been very helpful when we have needed some advice so possibly worth a call.
