This year my brother is getting married in Cuba, so all my usual money and annual leave is going on that and I'm not able to take my tent and go camping somewhere. My only camping trip is in August.

So I decided yesterday with it being nice that I would give the tent an airing and roll out the carpet that I got bought for xmas for it.

Luckily the tent only just fits in my garden as I tried the footprint 1st.

It was up most of the afternoon and it got me thinking that I should sleep out in it.

So I did. However, I've discovered that my airbed has a slow puncture as by morning I was practically laid on the floor. So will have to replace that before August.

So, has anyone camped out in the garden in this gorgeous weather?

oh yes! lol i think alot of us have done that, in my opinion its a very good idea, like in your case you found out your bed had a punture, where better place to find that out than your own garden.

We would love to do it (sleep in the tent in the garden) but our grass area is not big enoyugh for our first tent and our garden is not big enough for the second.

Cheers

My neighbour's son is sleeping out in the garden as he does most summers.

I use the term "sleeping" loosely, as he seems to leave the tent at practically hourly intervals. It's about 5' from my bedroom wndow, and as it's too hot to keep them shut, the noise of the damn zip going wakes the dogs, who in turn wake me. I was woken 4 times between 12.30 and 6 last night, and at least twice every night so far this week.

By the end of the summer I think I will be quite deranged from sleep deprivation.
