Having had the same problem at a site near Salcombe in Devon we can sympathize with you all, it just ruined everything, you don't sleep well and then your tired the following day and cooking is just a joke.
These sites need to be honest about their sites as it is just unfair when you have travelled for over 2 hours, as we did, to only arrive at what you know when you stand looking at your pitch is going to be a problem but its too late to do anything about it.
Slopping sites for hardcore campers with their smaller expedition type tents is fine as it doesn't faze them but today's larger family tents are just not designed to be twisted on such ground, lets face it Glamping cant cope with slopes.
