We don't use it. The only reason I ever would is because I really feel the cold and sometimes I wish we had a heater.
But as a bit of a greenie I find the idea of literally "heating the sky" (as my Dad used to say when I left the door open!) wasteful and pointless.
Also I would be scared of opening the floodgates of taking godknowswhat with us. Suddenly taking a hairdryer and straighteners would seem like an option and quite frankly we may as well stay in a cottage if we go down that route....

I agree with you about "heating the sky". I have straighteners that run off the car cigarette lighter socket though!
I camped for about 30 years before EHU's became available for tents about 8 or 10 years ago, so I find it intriguing that many relative newcomers to camping consider it to be essential.
