OK UKCampsiters, I bet me & Mrs jimandali aren't the only ones to suffer the annual haemorrage of cash into the pockets of the UK's online purveyors of camping kit.

How did it start this year?

Mrs jimandali decided the time had come for us to join the ranks of the EHU-enabled.

Next came the table-top fridge from Comet, then the fold up picnic table & chairs. After that we(?) discovered an irrepressible need for a Coleman Event shelter
(& side panel).

Apparently we now have the ability to take nicely chilled food from our fridge to cook under cover of our shelter on either the BBQ, gas cooker or the mini-oven/grill (forgot to mention that earlier - but it was FreeCycled so doesn't have quite the same impact on MY credit card).

I now nervously watch Mrs jimandali eying up the nice camping kitchens you can get

If this carries on we'll single-handedly accomplish El Gordo's consumer led economic recovery.

Anyone else out there suffering in a similar fashion?

Given the choice we would rather be camping.

Since May we have bought:-

A Khyam Ontario 8, sun porch, carpet, loo, folding table, folding table and chairs, 2 chairs, 2 folding tables, a kitchen, a gas hob, a BBQ, 2 aero beds, 2 lazy quilts, a heater, a kettle, 2 windbreakers, a groundsheet, cool bag, a flat screen tv/dvd.

I think that's it, but I'm sure there is probably more!

You think that's bad:

Went out to buy a backpack picnic set and saw tents so:

Bought a tent

Everything to go with it but

Couldn't fit it all in the car so:

Bought a bigger car

Bought more kit

Couldn't fit it in the bigger car so:

Now looking to fit a towbar and

Buy a trailer

and by the way:

Never did buy a backpack picnic set.

We've had different tents over the years and whatever type we have and however good we think it is we always find ourselves looking at other types of tent, can't help it! We have had various outwell tents and they've all been great. Our teenagers don't come with us any more so we are selling a 4/5 berth outwell tent called winfield. The last time we used it and it was just the two of us we were able to leave one of the double bedrooms out for extra living space and were able to cook inside, stand up  and fit a 4 seater table with stools and two chairs with room to spare. Winfield is light and airy and we've had it about 3 years and it comes with a groundsheet. For a footprint we just use a cheapo plastic tarpaulin and we've never bothered with a tent carpet - too pricey!   I don't know where you are but we are looking to sell it for 90.00 ono. If you're interested in the details you should be able to google 'outwell winfield' Kate.
