Even one layer of opaque plastic will ruin the grass if its left down long enough. Doesn't matter if there's one layer or four. At least with loose groundsheets you have the option of either leaving them out or rolling them up during the day, and lifting an inner pod a bit to let light and air under. I camped on the same pitch for four weeks straight last year in my TT and when I left all the damage you could see on the grass was where the trailer wheels had sat and two paler sections under the undertents, which had been lifted regularly.
