Last summer I went to Reading Festival (like Glastonbury but smaller) to collect my daughter. She didn't camp over night,however I picked her up from near the tents. They were packed together in a way I just could not believe. How anyone found the right tent in day light let alone the dark was beyond me ( fire safety sprang to mind) But what you noticed most was the SMELL !!! It was truely awful, the stink of mud, unwashed bodies,food,booze etc was overpowering. 
So perhaps a quick flood would have freshened it all up a bit!!
