I have found its usefull to take tupperware pots if you want to make up packed lunches. Also a dustpan and brush is usefull when you are packing the tent away. Potty for the little one ?? (and you if caught short in the night - ha ha ) Could always find an indoor pool if you have a rainy day.
Thanks again everyone, Pete I saw those stands yesterday too, haven't got the cash to buy one yet but hoping to get one after if they are still doing them. I am glad I asked about the bedding etc as I will now take as much as we can fit in the car, really hate the thought of the kids being way too cold, so it'll be a vest, sleepsuit, hat and mitts for the baby as well as loads of blankets on and under the basket, and be vest bedsocks PJ's and lots of blankets for my eldest! Will see what family have knocking around, think his mum has sleeping bags.
Just hoping I enjoy it and trying to think of the worst case scenario camping-wise! IE Rain, wind.. mud!!! COLD!
I hope you have a wonderful time, and I expect you will have a heatwave in Cornwall , and be sweating under your huge pile of bedding .
I dunno what its been like the rest of the country but we've had really warm sunny weather, ideal camping weather :0) in south wales for the last few weeks , with very little rain and not many cool days at all.
As mentioned before the one ring cooker will be a problem, best get a minimum two ring! At least then you can do a stew, tinned steak on one ring, veg and spuds on the other.
If your not taking an electric toaster you may want to consider a cooker with a grill, it takes timeto cook toast but who cares when your camping, time is not an issue !
Bin the washing up bowl and get a collapseable crate for the wasing up.
Extra table will be needed if you get a two ring cooker or alternatively a cooker stand. Get down to Aldi and get a fold up table for £16.99, or cooker stand for £19.99
Best advice is Chill out and enjoy yourself, the last time we went camping for two weeks it rained for the majority of it and i swore i would never go again and hadnt, with the family, for about 6 years but after having the best whitsun weekend away with 12 friends the bug has bitten again and i have just bought (Saturday gone) a Diablo 900XP.
I just bought a double burner stove without grill (none of the grills are worth having IMO) and a picnic table with stools attached for £35 delivery included , using a catalogue discount code. I got £30 off a £60 order, code works on a few mail order cats . link
This folding toaster £2.99makes toast even quicker than an electric one and works great on the single burner you have .
just make sure you are warm and dry, i will be amazed if your further than 10 miles from hot food after all its not the gobi dessert your going to, you will have a great time i promise its all part of camping, good luck
