i go through stages in the lead up.

excitement,

panic,

controlled excitement.

panic is usually cos i'm scared that i'll no longer like it?!?! but usually abated once i start the list of what we're taking! i'm off on thursday for 3 nights and have overcome the panic stage :D now just need to start cooking ;)

could you not fit in a sneaky weekend away in the run up? 6 weeks sounds like a long time!

No you're not alone !!....we're not going until the 7th of August and I find I'm wishing my life away...its terrible...I can't wait.  Got lots of slog before then though, working.

I just hope that the weather is ok in August...I don't actually think we've had a good straight run of summer camping weather in the four years we've been camping.  I just hope that at last, this year, we'll get the long hot barmy summer days under canvas I've always dreamed of !!

Yes, I usually find that when you get slightly cross-eyed and have a little weeeeeeee, this is a good indicator. (IMHO).

not been camping for 3 years last year went on a chalet holiday the year before had a caravan somehow it's not the same with solid walls and i miss the sound of a tent zip in the mornings our grandson comes with us and to make life a bit easier we have bought a new royal rimini 6 frame tent i am so excited i can hardly sleep at night and we have got another 5 weeks to wait. if the garden was big enough i would be out in it now.have enjoyed reading all the hints and tips and found them to be really great.

So glad I'm not the only one!!  17

Apart from spending hours scouring this fantastic forum, I spend ages trying to justify reasons for making new purchases!

And in terms of a wonderful list....I have one in excel on my work laptop....just so I can think of things to add to it - and cheer myself up during lunch by looking at it!  Maybe I do need help after all!17
