Thought I'd better pitch the Montpellier in the garden at the weekend as we ae using that one for our holiday (wehey!!). Gorgeous sunny weekend - Ben & I slept in it and although the forecast was for rain on Monday, I decided to leave it. Well, talk about a downpour! We had thunder, lightning, wind, hail and the most amazing amount of rain in a relatively short time. I was really worried about the tent - after all , she is an old lady - but when the rain finally subsided I checked her over. Everything inside was as dry as a bone - rain droplets looking beautiful glistening on the canvas and within minutes of that absolute soaking she was virtually dry. Slept again in there last night and another downpour but didn't bother me at all.
So glad she has had a good test as I'm now fairly confident about our week in North Yorkshire - hoping of course for gloriously sunny days but now not worried about what the weather might throw at us.
I'd highly recommend test pitching wherever possible.
