I am sick of this anti-family attidude that selfishly seems to exist only here in the UK

Our European neighbours seem far more family focused than us in the UK - where childeren are welcome in cafe bars.  all manner of eating establishments ect ect.

But mostly the children behave well in restaurants etc in mainland Europe, so of course they are welcome.

Valbarley and Fran 1000 - I was going with you Val till Fran mentioned the no kiddies under 5 and her post pipped yours LOL.  I would go one further and ban kids altogether - and no I'm not a kiddie hater (have a couple of big grown up ones myself) but I am a "torment the dog, lets play boo with the tied up dog, lets invade everyone elses space by walking directly through other people's pitches - especially responsible dog owners' pitches who have their dogs tethered and dont want strange children hitting their dog with a stick on the way past".  Yes, over the years the small people have done all this and it is now time to ban them from all campsites unless they are tethered to their parents by a dog lead!  I await posts from people wanting to ban all dogs, especially dogs who invade their personal space - often leaving a wet or solid greeting card on their way past, dogs who bark incessantly for no apparent reason and dogs who lunge at anything that walks past their territory!  Lets just go the whole hog and ban the parents of both!!!

In a pub many years ago, a child stuck a straw up my dog's nose while the dog was sleeping!

oh PLEASE tell me you aren't being serious....

my 3 year old... would love your dog... to much so probably.  I have taught my children to respect animals... even snails (don't ask !!).  I have also had to drum it into my little boy not to just touch first ASK.

If only all parents would do this! It was so bad at one site we stayed at that I was contemplating making a "please don't touch the dogs" sign.
