I'm considering an Outwell Kids Room for my 2 boys (aged nearly 6 and 9) for our Montana 6.
I love the idea of having their own fun space and I'm also interested to know, from anyone who has one, does it make the sleeping area any darker?
The one thing I'm baffled by is the lack of dark fabric in the bedrooms and, as the boys are used to blackout blinds AND dark curtains, they do tend to wake up kinda earlier than usual.
Could anyone confirm either way whether the kids room provides a darker bedroom than standard, please?
Thanks
Tracey
------------- Mum to two boys - 17 and 14 yrs.
Seasoned campers in the UK up to 2010 when we moved to Portugal and back again in 2015. Now using a campervan which we converted ourselves in 2016.
It always surprises me that the zip is so easily accessible in the kids room. I know lots of parents of littlies put the zips to the top so that their little darlings can't get out and wander at night but that doesn't seem possible with the Kids room.
The zips aren't something I'm concerned about in this case.
The big one is big enough to let himself out, however high it is anyway.
If it's darker, however, I am interested. I'm not expecting blackout but sleeping in these tents is pretty much like being outside from a light POV.
Can't understand why they haven't invented blackout bedrooms by now! Someone missed a trick
Thanks for the replies

I suppose if you really was worried about little ones getting out you could always safety pin the little kiddie door shut as there is still two other doors that you can leave the zips at the top.
Must admit hadn't thought about that and luckily my two haven't attempted it...yet, we always leave the zips at the top in the main area so i suppose they could only wander into the main living area and to be honest i would hear them as i sleep so lightly when camping....neurotic that my kids will be stolen in the night or something ridiculous like that!

Black out with Noise reduction....
Oh, absolutely!
Might as well stay home, eh?
To be fair to my boys, they sleep pretty well in the tent. Hubby complains more about the light (kids don't complain, they just don't sleep in LOL)

They are just green an white as opposed to just white. I doubt very much they effect the light enough to effect their waking time. Had a look at one in the tent display at GO Outdoors as I have been wondering what all the fuss is about these. I thought they were a waste of money. I think they serve no purpose apart from look pretty.

I think the fuss is, Little Lemon, that the little people like them. Can't get my daughter out of hers - worth every penny to see her face first time we put it in

I absolutely agree! Our two love their bedroom, it promotes so much imaginative play too....they have had many an adventure in there!
Ours isn't just green and white, ours has a black roof and part way down the sides with little white stars on making the room darker.
