well i was thinking of getting a 3 way fridge £149 in GO OUTDOORS as we want to not need a EHU but then specialist in shop said you can't run the gas inside tent and the unit gives off a lot off heat (explains why in caravan the vent was on outside anyway I am going to carry on as normal:

Well, it's better if the fridge lives in the porch or a well ventilated place in the tent when it's running on gas, tis true. I wouldn't run mine in a SIG tent but as I have loose groundsheets in most of my tents this is not an issue. I place a board under it as protection for the groundsheet and as an aid to levelling. When I'm running it off electricity then it goes inside a pod with the EHU, because that's the driest place.

They kick out about enough waste heat to...well you can feel a vague warmth if you hold your hand over the vent but it's damm all, really.

I'm not entirely convinced the staff in Go Outdoors know very much about camping, tbh.....

How about taking UHT milk? It tastes fine in shakes and such. Blah on cereal though!

I was just going to suggest that.

I used to hate UHT milk, but I've just come back from staying with a friend who has this UHT stuff called  (I think) Candia that she gets form Sainsburys. It doesn't taste like UHT at all, and even better, the skimmed is like semi-skimmed.

Mind you, if I was getting through a gallon a day, I think I'd stay on a site with a shop and send one of the kids to buy it three times a day. I bet it's mostly them that drink it!

Probably not an ideal post on the day you joined the forum perhaps...

I am wondering what to buy as well. First camping trip in a few weeks - thinking of an electric coolbox, any suggestions please?
