This has probably been discussed before but I haven't used this site for a few years (I had a different username). Anyway, was just wondering what everyone cooks for dinner or whatever? We like to take everything with us that we need, to avoid the need for shopping in expensive grocers or supermarkets, and we generally cook spag bol, chilli or curry. I suppose what you cook depends on what facilities you have. We have a double gas burner that you fix blowtorch canisters to so we are somewhat restricted when it comes to cooking gourmet food. What does everyone else do? Would be really interested!

Oh, brilliant! Will have a good look. I love cooking and eating outdoors and do get fed up with all the "samey" stuff.

Would still like to hear what everyone likes to cook though! My favourite is that lovely smell of sausages and bacon cooking first thing in the morning. Can't beat it.

For me, full English breakfast with mushrooms and onions instead of beans and toms, plus fried slices in the morning, and then nothing much to eat except some snacks like an icecream until the evening when I shall have a BBQ (2 piece of meat plus grilled peppers, onions, sweetcorn and a big mushroom).

I make vacuum packs of single portion of breakfast pack containing 1 sausage, 3 streaky bacon rashes, 2 slices of black pudding, and freeze them in advance. This way, I don't have packs of uneaten sausage/bacon/black pud etc. in the fridge or freezer.

I also make packs of meat in singles, small steak, burger, marinated chicken thigh/pork/lamb etc.., marinated in advance except for the steak and burger, vacuum pack them before freezing.

When I go camping, I just take out the number of breakfast packs required, plus sufficient meat for the BBQs, and pack them in the thermoelectric cool box.

It will also minimise the need to handle raw meat by packing them in advance.

You can easily knock up a decent curry with one frying pan and a jar of Patak curry sauce or paste, and boil rice using the other burner.

How about salad with saute potato and crispy lardons?

I cooked pan-fried salmon in sweet soya sauce with spring onions, served with rice and stir-fried vegetable. You'll need 3 pans for that, just 2 burns, as once the rice is boiled it will retain its heat while you stir-fried the veg.

Steak, saute potato with salad perhaps.

A wok would be handy however it does take up a lot of space.

You can do a lot with 2 burners 17

Take a slow cooker, throw everything in in the morning switch on and by tea time you have a lovely hearty meal, no need for anything else...oh apart from the EHU!
