We were happy campers but were beaten by the weather, too. Our problem, though, was the heat - it just got too hot in our otherwise brilliant Vango Diablo. I was doing an Open Uni course and had an assessment due in whilst on holiday so the laptop and printer went with us.
Glorious, sunny day, OH is stretched out catching the rays, dogs sheltering in the shade under his seat and I'm in the tent, cooking in the heat!! Decided there and then that I wanted more comfort and now, 3 caravans later, we're even happier!
We have a fixed bed caravan that we and the dogs love staying in but it's in storage about 30 miles away so isn't great for a last minute weekend away. Friends who'd never camped in their lives recently bought a tent and that got us thinking so we've rejoined the camping ranks but aren't parting with our caravan.
The new tent is a Vango Carrera 600 in polycotton. It had its first outing last weekend and, whilst it still got pretty warm inside during the heatwave, it wasn't as hot as polyester.
Loving the freedom we now have to choose our holiday accommodation according to where we want to go, for how long and at what time of year.
